Why I Started the Midlife Renewal Project (and What I’m Figuring Out About Health After 40)

3 minutes read

Something started to change for me in midlife—and it didn’t happen all at once.

It was gradual.

A little more fatigue than I used to have.
A little more difficulty losing weight.
A little more confusion about what my body actually needs anymore.

And honestly, a growing feeling of:

“I don’t quite feel like myself lately… but I don’t know why.”

I kept thinking I just needed to “try harder” with diet and exercise. But the more I looked into it, the more I realized this wasn’t just about willpower.

It was something deeper—hormones, habits, stress, aging, and the simple reality that what used to work for me… wasn’t working the same anymore.

I’m not writing this as an expert

I want to be very honest from the start:

I am not a doctor, nutritionist, or fitness professional.

I’m simply a woman in midlife who started paying attention, asking questions, and trying to understand what’s going on with my body, my energy, and my health.

And I realized something important:

A lot of women are quietly going through the exact same thing.

Why I started the Midlife Renewal Project

I didn’t start this because I have everything figured out.

I started it because I don’t. But I have spent the last few years on a lot of research. I just need to take more action now!

I wanted a place to:

  • document what I’m learning
  • track what actually helps me feel better
  • build better habits step by step
  • and create structure in a season that can feel a little chaotic
  • and now help other women through their journey

So the Midlife Renewal Project became that space.

A place for renewal—not perfection.

A place for learning—not preaching.

A place for starting again, even if you’re starting in the middle of life.

What I’m focused on right now

Right now, I’m paying attention to things like:

  • energy levels throughout the day
  • weight changes and metabolism
  • cravings and blood sugar balance
  • sleep and recovery
  • simple habits that actually make a difference

I’m also exploring things like nutrition, movement, and daily routines—not in an extreme way, but in a realistic, sustainable way that fits real life.

What you can expect here

If you’re here, you’ll find things like:

  • simple health and habit ideas for midlife
  • what I’m personally trying and learning
  • journaling tools and reset challenges
  • easy recipes and nutrition ideas
  • ways to build consistency without burnout

And eventually, I’ll be sharing tools like journals and guides that help organize all of this into something practical you can actually use day to day.

If you’re in the same season…

If you’re in your 40s or beyond (I’m 45) and you’ve noticed changes in your energy, your body, or your habits—you are not alone.

And you’re not behind.

You’re just in a new season that requires a new approach.

That’s really what this whole project is about.

Where I’m starting

I’m starting small.

I’m learning as I go.

And I’m focusing on progress, not perfection.

If you want to follow along, I’m glad you’re here.

This is the beginning of my Midlife Renewal Project.
